Can you believe we're gearing up for another performance review season? Time flies when you're designing, iterating, and pushing boundaries, right? Each year, I take this moment to look back at my journey, the challenges overcome, and the lessons learned.
Last year, I spilled the beans on my Year in Review performance document, and given the season, it feels like a good time to revisit that gem. It's the tool I use to document and reflect on all my work from the past year, and I honestly can't recommend it enough! If you missed it or just need a refresher, here's the video walkthrough.β

Speaking of reflections, I've been diving deep into understanding our intentions in the workplace, and that led me to the Situation-Behavior-Impact (SBI) Framework. It's a game-changer in decoding behaviors and bridging the gap between our intentions and the outcomes. Ever felt a certain way about someone's actions or your own, but struggled to articulate it? SBI might be what you've been looking for.
What's fascinating about SBI is its simplicity:
- π Situation: Pinpoint the exact context. For instance, "This morning at the 11 a.m. team meeting..."
- π Behavior: Observe without judging. Say, "You interrupted me during the budget discussion," not "You were inconsiderate."
- β€οΈ Impact: How did it make you feel or what did it lead to? "I felt sidelined and lost my train of thought."
